Welcome to Worship Therapy!
Worship has been an important part of my healing journey. On this weekly podcast, I’ll be sharing songs and artists who have impacted my life with their gifts.
This week we will be discussing living For The One. Our lives should reflect an understanding of God’s love and cause others to desire to know that same love.

Our featured song is For The One by Jenn Johnson/Bethel Music
Lyrics:
Let me be filled
With Kindness, and compassion for the One
The One for whom You love and gave Your Son
For humanity increase my love
Help me to love with open arms, like You do
A love that erases all the lines and sees the truth
So that when they look in my eyes, they would see You
Even in just a smile they would feel the Father’s love
Oh, how He loves us
From the homeless, to the famous and in between
You formed us, You made us carefully
‘Cause in the end we are all Your children
So help me to love with open arms, like You do
A love that erases all the lies and sees the truth
So that when they look in my eyes, they would see You
Even in just a smile they would feel the Father’s love
Let all my life, tell of who You are
And the wonder of Your never-ending love
Let all my life, tell of who You are
You’re wonderful and such a good Father
Let all my life, tell of who You are
And the wonder of, Your never-ending love
And all my life, tell of who You are
You’re wonderful and such a good Father

WORD OF GOD
Read 1 John 4:16-18
This passage gives us an excellent synopsis of the power of love:
We have come into an intimate experience with God’s love, and we trust in the love he has for us.
God is love! Those who are living in love are living in God, and God lives through them. By living in God, love has been brought to its full expression in us so that we may fearlessly face the day of judgment, because all that Jesus now is, so are we in this world. Love never brings fear, for fear is always related to punishment. But love’s perfection drives the fear of punishment far from our hearts. Whoever walks constantly afraid of punishment has not reached love’s perfection. ~ 1 John 4:16-18
Now consider the words of the song For The One. Living our life for God, we open ourselves to loving more and being open to receive more love. Love has the power to drive out fear so we can boldly embrace life and show that same love to others.
Today’s Therapy Session
- Are there any negative thoughts you believe about love? Where did these thoughts originate? Challenge these beliefs against what God’s word says about love. His love has the power to erase the lies so you can see the truth. The truth about you and about others.
- When someone looks into your eyes what do you think they see? Do they see pain, distrust, and fearfulness? Or do they see love, compassion, and openness? Has disappointment in how people love caused you to put walls around your heart that now prevent you from fully experiencing God’s love. He loves with open arms and He welcomes you in His embrace just as you are. Daily live as if you know you are loved.
