Read Psalm 27
This Psalm reveals the fearless trust we can have in God:
The Lord is my light and my salvation;
Whom shall I fear?
The Lord is the defense of my life;
Whom shall I dread? ~ Psalm 27:1
Now consider the words of the song Way Maker. Fear has a difficult time oppressing those who choose to remember who God is in their life. He is a miracle worker, promise keeper, light in the darkness, healing, saving, and delivering God. The next time fear tries to pull you down, sing the words of this song to remind you to fearlessly trust God.
Today’s Therapy Session
- Have there been times in your life when the path God takes you on does not line-up with what you had hoped or desired? How did you handle the disappointment? Did it cause you to seek out God’s heart on the matter or did it cause you to close your heart to Him? There is no right or wrong answer, just honestly process what happened so you can heal any areas where the pain of disappointment still lingers.
- Fearless trust requires an understanding of God’s heart towards you. Do you believe God is for you or against you? Don’t confuse your journey with God’s heart. Just because the course you’ve traveled to get to this point in your life may have been difficult, does not mean God’s heart toward you is harsh. As the Way Maker, He is not deterred by the obstacles you’ve encountered. He is unphased by the storms on the horizon. Take courage in knowing the Way Maker is able to lead you through to the other side.
